Great Queensland Rail Trail Adventure - Main Route
670.86 kmMixed -- dedicated rail-trail sections, formed off-road formation, and quiet country road.Gladstone to Wulkuraka
The spine of a composite multi-day ride stitching together several Queensland rail trails and the roads connecting them, now running Gladstone to Ipswich via Nagoorin, Buliyan, Ubobo, Many Peaks and the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail corridor. Restructured so this spine follows only verified-accurate road/trail data the whole way, with no estimated or approximate stretches. Part of a 3-trail network sharing this name - the Miriam Vale Branch (Miriam Vale to Many Peaks) and Kilkivan Connector (Kilkivan to Wondai) both join this spine as separate itinerary legs via the app's "add another trail" flow, at Many Peaks and Wondai respectively. Links the Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail corridor (Many Peaks, Monto, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Gayndah), the Kilkivan-Kingaroy-Yarraman Rail Trail area (Wondai, Kingaroy, Nanango, Yarraman), and the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (Blackbutt through to Wulkuraka). Not a single RTA-listed trail -- Richard's own composite route.
Gladstone through Boynedale (a dedicated rail-trail section) to Nagoorin, then via Buliyan and Ubobo (the old rail formation) to Many Peaks - this whole stretch replaces what was previously a separate, inaccurate direct-road guess with the genuine, GPS-verified route. From Many Peaks: Golembil, Barrimoon, Kalpower, Mungungo, Monto, Mulgildie, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Proston, Hivesville, Wondai (where the Kilkivan Connector joins), Kingaroy, Nanango, Yarraman, Blackbutt, Linville, Moore, Harlin, Toogoolawah, Esk, Lowood, Fernvale, finishing at Wulkuraka in Ipswich.
