Outer Harbor Greenway Railside Trail
23.6 kmMostly asphalt shared paths with some quiet residential streets; almost completely flat.Adelaide to North Haven (Outer Harbor)
A flat route beside the operating Outer Harbor railway line, using quiet streets and shared paths. It leaves the Adelaide Parklands, passes through Bowden, Croydon, Woodville and the old Port Dock railyards at Port Adelaide, and ends on the Lefevre Peninsula near Outer Harbor, in a port area once busy with copper and wool exports. It links with the Coast Park Path, the Grange Greenway and the Semaphore Rail Trail.
Adelaide to Woodville (about 8km): from near the Morphett Street Bridge and the railway station along the River Torrens past Torrens Weir to Bonython Park, then along Day Terrace and Belmore Terrace beside the Bowden Brompton development, with bridges over the main roads. Toilets at M.J. McInerney Reserve in West Croydon; bike repair station at Woodville station. Woodville to Port Dock (about 6km): quiet streets and shared paths with signalled main-road crossings, under Grand Junction Road and into the old Port Dock railyards past the SA Aviation Museum and the National Railway Museum. Port Dock to Outer Harbor (about 9.5km): over the Port River on Birkenhead Bridge, along Mead Street beside the railway, across Lady Ruthven Drive, to the Outer Harbor Lookout; the finish is abrupt. Free bike hire at the Port Adelaide Visitor Information Centre. Some Port Dock streets are busy; bridge works near Dock 1 may cause detours.
