Sidings Rail Trail (Nannup to Jarrahwood)
26.44 kmMainly gravel surface, still loose in some sections. Several small rail bridges (some crossed directly, others with a parallel newer bridge alongside). Gentle grades typical of a well-maintained rail trail.Nannup to Jarrahwood
Also known as the Sidings Rail Trail, this follows the old Nannup branch railway (Jarrahwood to Nannup section completed 1909, closed 1984) through jarrah forest, running alongside St Johns Brook for part of the way with views across the brook and Blackwood River as it enters Nannup. Original sleepers and rail signage remain in several short sections, along with informative panels on the area's railway and timber heritage. A gentle, easy ride suitable for families and less experienced riders, and part of the 1,000km Munda Biddi Trail. Can be combined with the more adventurous, hillier Old Timberline Trail (which branches off at Cambray Siding) for a 37km loop back to Nannup. Nannup itself is a designated 'Trail Town' with over 100km of walking, cycling and mountain biking trails, plus its own brewery, cafes and the Nannup Arboretum.
Nannup to Bibilup Siding (approx. 7.5km): starts at the old railway bridge in Nannup Foreshore Park, crossing the Blackwood River. Bibilup Siding to Cambray Siding (approx. 7.5km, total 15km): passes Dellerton Siding (12km) - Cambray Siding is where the Old Timberline Trail provides an alternative route back to Nannup. Cambray Siding to Jarrahwood (approx. 11km): crosses St Johns Brook, mildly uphill past Rocky Gully and farmland, then downhill through jarrah forest to the small settlement of Jarrahwood, crossing Vasse Hwy along the way.
