Perth - Midland Principal Shared Path

An urban dual-use path beside the Midland railway line through Perth's eastern suburbs. Cycled in about an hour. Almost complete - one short section between Woodbridge and Midland still has no dedicated path.

Yagan Square to East Perth (2.1km): east along Roe Street past Perth Station and through McIver and Claisebrook. East Perth to Bayswater (4.7km): past Mount Lawley, Maylands and Meltham. Bayswater to Bassendean (4.2km): beside Guildford Road. Bassendean to Guildford (2km): across the Swan River on the heritage-listed Guildford Road Bridge (1937). Guildford to Woodbridge (4km): ends at the Morrison Road rail crossing; from there use the footpath along Great Eastern Highway, or Yelverton Drive and Amherst Road, to reach Midland. Works at Bayswater station have the path diverted around the redevelopment. E-bike hire: RideOnE in Ascot, several blocks from the path (08 6117 4114).
